LIFE UPDATE : My NEW Business
I am so excited to say, I have officially launched my business!
I’ve always had a strong entrepreneur desire. My dad runs his own business and my mom runs her classroom. So it’s just been engrained in me to have my own business and be my own boss. The past several years I have strived to became a very independent woman which is great for starting your own business. I prided myself in that growth and independency. Why wouldn’t I be proud of that?! But something happened along the way that wasn’t good.
In trying to become independent, I became lonely. I wanted to do everything for myself that I told myself I didn’t need anybody. But that lack of community and support is what made it hard for me to follow my dreams. I realized that I needed the encouragement and voices beside me telling me to “keep going” and “You got this.”
Fast forward about 8 months. I was on social media as per usual and I noticed I had a new message from a girl who I had followed just a couple days earlier. As I opened the message I saw that she had sent me a HUGE message. (I mean it was huge for someone that the only thing I knew about her was that we shared the same name.) As I began to read what she had thoughtfully typed out, I realized that what I was reading was the beginning of something exciting.
After talking it out with my boyfriend and a weekend of prayer, I decided to partnered with a luxury hair care company.
Monat isn’t like any other company. There are no continual dues or required parties, your investment is minimal compared to the amount of success you can achieve and in a very small amount of time, and lastly, but definitely not least, their business model is unlike any other. Shampoo has changed the life for so many people and I couldn’t wait to see what it would do for me. Honestly, becoming a partner in this company was just a no brainer for two reasons.
If you’ve known me for a while then you know my first career (and still done on the side) was as a licensed hairstylist. I worked about 25 hours a week with about 30-35 regular clients. That being said, I knew, and still know, a lot about hair and hair care products and I have never used a product like this before. The growth and repair that these products contribute to are unlike any thing I’ve ever seen a product do.
And if you know me now, then you know how active I am on social media, from sharing my outfits to my favorite coffee shops and restaurants. I am already posting at least once a day if not two. I share most of my life on social media because I like being connecting and being real with people through this medium. I not only can help and inspire people face to face, but across the world.
And it’s as simple as that — Sharing my hair journey.
As amazing as their products are, I was even more excited about being a partner in this company. Not just because they are the number one hair company whose products are completely natural, but because of all the great women that are a part of this business. The community that they have created through this business is so inspiring. It was, and still is, exactly what I wanted and needed. What really shocked me is that so many of them haven’t even been doing this longer than a year and are still making their business a huge success and created such deep and real relationships.
Success isn’t as far away as it feels. It’s just one decision away.
Okay, so the whole the point of this wasn’t to go on and on about what I was doing, but I wanted to share with you more on WHY I am doing this. In everything we do we have a why and I think it’s so important to share mine with you. It is and will be what keeps me going and inspired in this journey.
So, why NOW did I decide to partner with Monat?
Well, after almost 8 months of watching women kill this business and “show off” their amazing hair, I knew I wanted in! I had been putting it off for far too long and I knew if I didn’t give it a try then I would regret it. YES, I had been seeing others killing it for 8 MONTHS before I decided to take that first step. I had been finding any excuse I could think of to keep me from doing this. I kept telling myself, “Now just isn’t the right time.” But when will be the right time. The right time is NOW. Not because I finally had time or finally it just aligned because honestly I’m still really busy and have so much going on. But I knew I just had to take that first step. And I had to do it NOW.
But why Monat?
Honestly because of the community. It’s as simple as that. There are so many awesome women who are already a part of this company and I knew I had to be a part of whatever they were doing. They were excited and passionate and just so happy. True Story: There are a couple of women that I have been following on Instagram for a while now, and I really looked up to them for inspiration for my career and goals in life. They are strong, independent female entrepreneurs who happen to also be doing Monat. It wasn’t their first business. Each of them started a career in something else and still are sooo successful in that other business, but they are also killing it in Monat. And here I was be given the opportunity to be apart of what they were doing and essentially being apart of their team. How could I NOT take this opportunity if not anything but to be mentored and surrounded by strong women.
My biggest why would have to be financial freedom.
Isn’t that what everyone wants?! I know for me that my finances are my biggest stress point, but unfortunately, I don’t have enough time to do much more than I already do. I am a full-time college student, a part time hair stylist and a part time barista with not a lot of extra time on my hands. But how could I miss a business opportunity doing what I’m already doing for free? I share most of my life on social media. Why? Because I love connecting with people and inspiring others, and instead of only being able to face to face, social media allows you to connect with people all over the world. So, why not combine my two passions when it will also give me the opportunity for financial freedom?
One thing that this business has already taught me is to “Work SMARTER, not HARDER.”
That’s what I plan to do. I have heard so many women say that partnering with this company was the smartest business decision that they have ever made. And I can’t wait to see where this new journey takes me.
Thank you all for reading a long and be interested in whats new in my life. If you want to know more about his journey or have any more questions as to why, don’t hesitate to ask.
